Director of Finance

Triton Systems has an opening for a hands-on Director level manager who will be responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with US government agencies, lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, commercial and government cost accounting, budgetary controls. This position reports to the CEO. The position is responsible for:

1. Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and government submitted fiscal goals, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

2. Responsible for maintaining the company's system of accounts, books and records on all company transactions and assets.

3. Implements major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.

4. Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.

5. Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payrolls, and other applicable taxes.

6. Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.

7. Responsible for the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department. This individual recommends training requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company's current and future needs and objectives. ESSENTIAL

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: - BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field - 5+ years of strong experience in accounting, financial management and direct supervisory responsibilities necessary - CPA and/or MBA a plus - Proven track record with Government cost accounting, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and government contracting is essential - Direct experience dealing with Defense Contract agency essential - Experience transitioning an SBIR company to a commercial company a plus - Experience in a manufacturing environment where inventory management, risk/loss mitigation, process management, and Work in Process (WIP) a plus - Knowledge of Deltek accounting software is strongly desired -Excellent computer skills, communication skills both verbal and written needed - Must be a U.S. Citizen

 Staff Engineer for Application Development in Fargo, North Dakota

Triton Systems has a unique coating capability, based on the atmospheric pressure plasma liquid deposition technology, which enables surface treatment and modification of rigid and flexible substrates. Examples of functionalities introduced via these coatings include hydrophobic, hydrophilic, optical, dielectric, adhesion promotion, antimicrobial, antifouling, and barrier. This new brand opening offers an incredible growth opportunity for the right individual who wants to take it to the next level.

We are seeking a dynamic engineer or scientist to support our product development projects. The selected candidate will actively participate in experimental planning, execution, and data analysis. We are looking for an individual that can follow directions as well as demonstrate creativity in task execution. The successful candidate should be familiar and comfortable working with new materials and chemicals, familiar with lab equipment and instruments found in a typical RD laboratory, coating process development, coating characterization, hardware modifications as needed, wet chemistry procedures, familiar with safety procedures in an RD chemistry lab.

The successful candidate should have a technical degree such as a BSc degree in chemical engineering or related areas. Industrial experience is a plus.

Process Engineer for Application Development in Fargo, North Dakota

We are seeking a dynamic, highly energy engineer with broad knowledge and experience to drive the product development process from early stages through full-size and fully-functional integrated prototypes. The selected individual will work closely with a dozen of highly accomplished scientists and engineers to develop prototype systems.

The ideal applicant must have:

  • Process and Product development experience (involving materials, coatings, etc.)
  • Thin film coating process and optimization (experience with plasma coatings and systems highly desired)
  • Experimental planning and data analysis experience
  • In depth knowledge of at least one of the following product areas: specialty fabrics, surface finish of medical supplies, antimicrobial coatings, transparent substrates
  • Project management
  • Hands on and independent engineer
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer management skills
  • Advanced degree in chemical engineering or related field

 S/he is a self-starter requiring little supervision, assists in the new business development, capable of securing new funding through solicited and unsolicited proposals, is willing to travel occasionally to meet with customers, partners and vendors. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience in a product development group.  Recent graduates will be considered if their thesis work is closely related to this position.
